Last week I went to see the movie "Iron Man". I will start off by saying it was never one of my favorite series in the Marvel Universe. I went in expecting a weak telling of the background of Tony Stark and Iron Man. However I was blown away by Robert Downy Jr.'s performance as Tony Stark. I didn't think it was much of a strech considering his past addictions and drinking problems. He was born to play the part.

I felt the casting was great and kept the feel of the universe it is set.
The action was great and the effects were top notch. Even the slower parts of the movie were layden with humour and furthered your immersion into this great story.

I have felt on so many of the other super hero movies they just dropped the ball and changed the story to fit some kind of demographic need or whatever. For example I am a huge X-Men movie and found them only passable at best. I have to say this is Marvels best movie to date!Great job Marvel!

This past week I was lucky enough to get tickets for the midnight showing of the new Indiana Jones movie. I was really excited to see this movie and I wasn't disapointed in the least. They brought back many from the original cast. I won't say much about this so you can be surprised by all the characters from past movies. Also watch for a lot of jokes about Indiana Jone's age in this one. There is also some humour that if you don't know the previous movies well you might not catch them. I really like how George Lucas always has to do something like that.

Shia Lebough perhaps stole some of Harrison Ford's thunder in this one. I personally think his action sequences were the amungst the best in the film. Especially the sword fight scene. I would hate to be him after that fight though lol.
Cate Blanchett played the fanatical russian eh scientist well and wasn't too bad on the eyes either. Her accent was well done and her mannerisms made you believe she was truely a russian offer of the era. I also enjoyed her action scenes as well. She had a few tounge in cheek moments that are pretty obvious at their meanings.

Overall the story is set up like most of the others in the series. Being chased find the way to the lost object, get captured, and at the end discover the deeper truth of the artifact. I wouldn't change this though because it really felt like I was watching one of the other movies except the sci fi twist that sorta made me roll my eyes. All in all I would have to say go see this as soon as you can it was that good if you are a fan of this series it is well worth the eight dollars. I think this might be my new favorite of the series, hmm perhaps a tie with the Last Crusade. In both movies the interaction of the main characters is what made these films so great for me and this one won't disapoint!

Hello everyone I know it has been awhile and I have been silent for far too long. For the past few months my head has been hurting me and I was unable to read most printed material and decided to go and buy me some new glasses. I just got them yesterday and they are great and the headaches are gone and more importantly I can read my textbooks now! Last year I upgraded from Boyfriend 5.0 to Husband 1.0 and noticed a distinct slow down in overall system performance, particularly in the flower and jewelry applications, which operated flawlessly under Boyfriend 5.0.
In addition, Husband 1.0 uninstalled many other valuable programs, such as Romance 9.5 and Personal Attention 6.5 and then installed undesirable programs such as NBA 5.0, NFL 3.0 and Golf Clubs 4.1. Conversation 8.0 no longer runs, and Housecleaning 2.6 simply crashes the system. I’ve tried running Nagging 5.3 to fix these problems, but to no avail.
What can I do?

DEAR DESPERATE ,
First keep in mind, Boyfriend 5.0 is an Entertainment Package, while Husband 1.0 is an operating system.
Please enter command: ithoughtyoulovedme.html and try to download Tears 6.2 and don’t forget to install the Guilt 3.0 update. If that application works as designed, Husband 1.0 should then automatically run the applications Jewelry 2.0 and Flowers 3.5.
But remember, overuse of the above application can cause Husband 1.0 to default to Grumpy Silence 2.5, Happy Hour 7.0 or Beer 6.1. Please note that Beer 6.1 is a very bad program that will download the Snoring Loudly Beta.
Whatever you do, DO NOT install Mother-In-Law 1.0 (it runs a virus in the background that will eventually seize control of all your systemresources.)
Also do not attempt to reinstall Boyfriend 5.0 program. These are unsupported applications and will crash Husband 1.0.
In summary, Husband 1.0 is a great program, but it does have limited memory and cannot learn new applications quickly. You might consider buying additional software to improve memory and performance. We recommend Cooking 3.0 and Hot Lingerie 7.7.

For the past month or so I have been using Pandora to find new music because I am was getting sick of the same old thing I hear everyday. I ran across a band called No More Kings. They are an interesting mix of modern pop rock with silly lyrics and melodies. Some songs are about becoming a zombie and another is about Knight Rider and yes the do even have one about the classic Karate Kid entitled "Sweep the Leg" Their style reminds me a bit of a band I really liked back in the 1990's The Refreshments and their song "Bandito" It was a refreshing change.

Phone calls for under $20 a year?

I have been listening to many podcasts lately and on one of Cnet's blog they mentioned a product called magicJack. It is simply a $40 dongle that connects through any USB connection on your computer or laptop and allows you to plug in a analog phone line. It installs in minutes and then you can start calling. The first year is included in the $40 price tag and it is only $20 each year after. I have been researching VOIP for a while now and haven't found anything else like this. Could this be a Vonage or Skype killer? That remains to be seen I am going to purchase one within the next two weeks and I will be back with a more in depth review of the quality of the service.

The magicJack service has the following features that can make it comparable to both VOIP and standard phone service:

-Free Local & Long Distance calling

-Free Phone Number

-Free Voice Mail

-Free Directory Assistance

-Free Call Waiting

-Free Follow Me (multi number forwarding)

-Free International Calling

The features seem nice and since there is no extra charge it is almost a fresh breath of air after since phone companies have been charging additional fees to access many of these features. The free international calling is basically when you are traveling to that country and take it with you. You are able to still receive and make calls as you would normally in the US. However calling the a foreign county with the service isn't available at this time, although according to the site's FAQS it is on its way. We will see how the whole thing pans out. I wish this small company the best of luck. It is nice to see an innovation that isn't dictated by the larger companies.

This past weekend I attended Gothcoming at Outland night club. It was an interesting experience. First doors were supposed to open at 8pm. They didn't open until well after 9pm. It seemed they were having lighting issues. Voltaire's set started late and only lasted about one hour. He was very charismatic, entertaining, and funny. Here are some youtube clips of songs he did. I am going to take a moment to update everyone on what the hell I have been doing these past two months. First I have just finished my first term at Kaplan University. I am going for a Associates degree in networking. I think I did ok but I know I can do even better. It has been great except one of my Professors. He is really tough on my work. I am doing great in the other but I am doing the same thing in his class and I feel I am doing well but I seem to only be doing ok in his class. Later this month I start two new classes Composition for the IT Professional and Intro to IT 2. I am excited to be taking both because my writing if you haven't noticed isn't as polished as I would like it to be.

On a personal note a really great friend of mine is engaged. Rachael is engaged to a great guy. She is really happy and I am happy for her as well. I guess I have my answer about how she felt. I pray that everything goes well for them. It also makes certain decisions in my life easier to make.

This next week on the 18th is my birthday. I'll be 29, and have no plans for the actual birthday. However I am going to celebrate on the 28th at Outland Night Club at Gothcoming. I can't wait to see Voltaire and Belle Morte. I have already informed my friends I need a designated driver for that night.

I think Illinois is looking more like home the more I look at it. I need a change and I don't know what to do here in Ohio. I am going to Illinois here in October to check out the area. I am going to set up a few house showings so I can check out the market and get a feel for what the area is about.

Well here I am again... So much has happened to me over the past few days. Thursday seems to be the day when everything happened both good, and bad. It is a rather strange feeling to have both happen at once.

On Thursday the day was started with a feeling of great hope and a generally good mood. That lasted all of an hour and fifteen minutes into my work day. I am called into a meeting and am told I screwed up again... and I may not have a job by the end of the day. So for the next seven hours or so I am left in limbo, on the verge of a freak out until 4:03 in the pm when I get again called into a meeting telling me my time has come to an end and that I need to clean out my desk. ( I already had been working on this all day just in case) I admit I felt really upset and I did my best to hold composure with I feel I failed.

After that blow to my ego at work I was going to meet a woman whom is in my opinion just fantastic and wonderful. I don't know if she realizes that I really was glad she was there. Everyone knows you want to show your best to someone when you are meeting them for the first time, I wasn't at my best. My ego had taken such a large blow that I wasn't my usual self. I really hope she didn't think I wasn't interested in her because I was, and still am. I really hope to see her again sometime soon.

Friday was the day I was to take a vacation. The plan to go out to Colossalcon was not going to be changed just because I was out of work. So Joe and I went and tried to have a blast, and for the most part did except the hotel. It was Saturday night and were in a late night panel and some stupid kids starting some problems and all the panels were closed down. We ended up all going outside and just talking. Then we were being ordered around being threatened by the hotel that if we didn't go back to our rooms we were going to be evicted from the hotel. to say the least we were all upset. Some of the group of people I was hanging out with went to Denny's and Joe and I retreated to our room for the evening, and watched TV and griped about the injustice of the bullshit they were pulling. The next morning everything was back to normal with panels running and the previously scheduled programs resuming, however by this point I didn't care. We left right after out Final Fantasy panel that morning and just come back home. I really hope it isn't at the same hotel next year and if it is I am staying across the street at the Red Roof Inn or the Sheridan.

My current plans are to go and apply for unemployment and start job hunting starting either tomorrow or Tuesday. Wish me luck everyone, and I hope you are all well.

LOTRO: Shadow of Angmar Review

I have been waiting for this game for almost a year. Hearing the rumours fly around that it would be out soon. The open beta was an interesting opportunity to try the game before I made the decision to buy it. Considering I am a LOTR fan from before it was really popularized by Peter Jackson in the cinematic realm. Over all I was really impressed with this game.

The Good:

-Character Creation:
The character creation option on this game was great! The Character models were well developed and the features of you character varied greatly by the selection of your hometown.

-Beautifully created world and animations:
The backgrounds in this game are just awesome. It has a realism to it that can't be reached in the other MMOs I have played.

-True to Middle Earth.
What I mean by that is the names of the races, classes, and locations are strait from the pages of LOTR. Instead of the tired term Human they used Tolkien term Man. I was impressed how well this was put together.

-The interface was comfortable and familiar...
Well you should recognize this game if you are familiar to WoW it has a very similar interface system.

The Bad:

-What?! Not Licenced!
You have to be kidding right?!?! The actors likenesses can't be used... This upsets me. I thought Mr Smith played a hell of a Elrond! Anyhow if you really don't care for the movies that much then I guess it wouldn't bother you. Although it was nice how they integrated the main characters into the story so you struggled along side them.

-Unoriginal:
I was hoping for some sort of innovation in this area and was disappointed that it was a recycled WoW. The hotkey bar is in the same configuration and the minimap etc etc etc. To be honest that is about the only issue I had with this game except the excessive wait time to log into your server, and the lag time once in game. Those issues I assume will be corrected before the actual release of the game.

Final Thought:

Well if you love WoW you most likely will like this game. I think if marketed correctlythis could possibly lure away some of WoW's player base. The subscription cost is less $9.99 compared to $14.99. The interface is so familiar and simple to any WoW players. Plus it was a rather enjoyable game to boot! I am still on the fence about switching from WoW but I am really considering it. The only reason I might not is that my friends are all on WoW. I really can't wait to see what the future holds for LOTRO: Shadows of Angmar.

Kurt Vonnegut died yesterday at age 84 after suffering brain injuries after a fall a week ago. Today we lose a great thinker of our age. He was always pushing the bounderies in various schools of thought. Always willing to play devil's advocate if you will. I have seen blogs and blogs dedicated to the tell of his passing. Coming next Saturday April 14th to Bowling Green Ohio is Animarathon V. It is a one day Anime Convention. It starts @ 10am and runs till Midnight! The best part is that it is a free convention! There will be three or four screening rooms for your uber anime enjoyment. There will be various speakers and panels covering a variety of anime interests. I plan on attending and bringing a few friends. I hope to see you there!

Well people I keep disapearing for days, weeks, sometimes months at a time. I guess I just have been distracted with all the new toys lately. Between my xbox 360, a new pc and the games *drool, the games... I have been keeping myself somewhat unavailable. Plus playing the uber crack known as WoW and Final Fantasy XI, and now the Beta for LOTR online. More on that in the coming days (the beta opens April 6th). I plan a plethera of new content to come to my few loyal readers, and hopefully some new ones.

Here are just a taste of some of the features I have planned for some soon to come reqular posts.

*I am planning on bringing back F'ed Up Ebay.

*I am going to start er... or should I say revamp my Anime of the Week and Manga of the week to a monthly feature. Sorry I just don't have time to keep up with that as a weekly feature. If anyone would like to help with that let me know.

*I have planned quite a few trips to various cons this summer.

*I plan on starting some sort of Xbox 360 Corner or something really soon.

*I also plan on starting a weekly post relating to Magic: the Gathering. We are always playing tourneys and different formats of this wonderful CCG.

WoW is Right!

Well I remember the golden days of free online RPGs Diablo and Diablo2 made me swoon. Back then I said I would never get into the hype of the pay to play MMORPG. I watched as my friends sqaundered their money on Ultima Online(how can you protect your home when you aren't logged on?). I watched Everquest come and go. I heard Asheron Call and I didn't answer! Even my Star War geeked out self resisted Star Wars Galaxies!

Then my so called friend Joe introduced me to beautiful world of Vana'deil. The game was Final Fantasy XI. I loved the way you could use one character to play every class. The game design is spectacular to date I haven't seen a more beautiful MMO. The problem is finding players to party with. I can spend hours waiting for a group. I don't know about you but I have a life so that just sucks.

Now I get an invitation from Sam asking me to play WoW (World of Warcraft). I just sighed and said what the hell. I installed it and Wow is right, it may not be as beautiful as Final Fantasy XI, although the game play is fun and there are no lack of players wanting to group up and fight the mobs! All of my close friends have added the name pants to our names, why you may ask? I say why not? The power of pants
compels you! I think a new Guild may be forming on the Thunderhorn Server soon more
info on that later.

So I guess I am a memeber of two MMO's and I swore I would never even play one.

Coming in 2009 is a car unlike any other on the road. It is called Loremo Is is one of the most fuel effecitent cars I have seen, on average using only 300 liters of fuel per year for an average of 20,000 kilometers or for us here in the US that would be roughly 80 gallons a year to travel almost 12,500 miles. Well hello everyone! I am sorry I have been away for awhile! I am back now with updates for you all to explain my absence!

First off, I have been gaming again. Back on the crack known as Final Fantasy XI. How I love this game! If anyone wants to find me on I am either Xaanalisvir or Rueban. As much as I love this game I have been getting annoyed with it lately. I am a 25th level Elvaan Monk who can't find an exp party. I guess no one wants a monk =(.

Second, I finally got my hands on an Xbox 360. Gears of War is truly a beautiful game! So far I have finished it twice on casual and I am over half-way through hardcore. I played some on Xbox Live and it is a blast! This game lives up to all the hype that surrounds it. I tried playing Halo after and it just wasn't the same. I really hope Halo 3 brings something awesome to the table in it's next installment. Live arcade is awesome as well. I have a texas holdem game on there all be it a very simplistic interface, I find it addictive. With my Media Center PC linking the two together is pretty cool. I can display all my movies on both the PC and on my TV at the same time! I know I can do more than that but I just haven't figured it out yet. My Gamertag is BlackroseZero (because I couldn't get back BlackroseVerONE).

Plus with work you can see I have been keeping myself rather busy. I will make sure to atleast check in every other day. Also expect some really cool features to soon show up here, and also on RandomHumans.com we are currently working on a few projects for your pantsification!

Well yeah I finally got my refund Friday and I planned on using it all towards savings. Well that didn't happen, I ended up buying a new PC and a new 22" LCD widescreen monitor. (it's so pretty ;) ) Basically everyweek I end up going out to microcenter to drool over their computers and monitors. This time I found a deal I couldn't pass up. A HP media center with AMD 64 dual core processor. This system runs great. I really thought about having them put Vista Ultimate on here but I knew that Final Fantasy 11 and quite a few other programs I run aren't ready for the upgrade. So I will be happy with Media Center 2005. The biggest pain right now is moving files from my old AMD shuttle to the new tower. I was using a 2 gig jump drive for awhile because I couldn't get the external enclosure to my 250gb drive to work. Well let's just say that problem is fixed and I think I have plenty of storage for awhile about 500 gigs for now. I did see a few 700gb drives I may buy soon. Well that was my weekend! This evening I watched the last installment of the Sci-Fi miniseries "The Lost Room" I really enjoyed watching it. I reccomend everyone watch the rebroadcast this Sunday on Sci-Fi Starting @ 5pm est. I think they could continue it into a regular series, and personally I hope they do.If you can't watch it Tivo it. *Hint hint Justin and Sam. This past Wednesday I watched the first six episodes of Heroes on Sci-fi. They were running a six hour marathon, and I thought I should check it out. I had no idea what I was getting myself into, and to my surprise I was spellbound by the wonderful direction of this series. I thought it would be some lame show with no acting talent, or a deep plot... My skepticism fell quickly away into my new addiction. I downloaded and watch the other episodes I have missed, and am feinding for my next fix... EH I have never wished for a Monday to be here quickly. If you haven't seen this series yet I really recommend it. My friend Sam kept it as his little secret and never told me about how good it was till I told him I had watched the Sci-Fi Marathon. I will forgive him this time. He'll know better next time. LOL.

OK I am sure by now all of you have heard about China the woman accused of microwaving her baby to death. If not here is the story from CNN.

I will warn you what I am about to say may offend... So there is your fucking disclaimer...

Here is her story...
1.They left the baby home with a sitter.
2.When they got home the baby was fine...
3.In the morning the found the child dead.

Alright how lame is that! Here is my take...
They went out got drunk, maybe even high. Came home. She was hungry and was craving a frozen burrito. She thought she nuked one, but doesn't remember eating it. Later after sobering up she found what she really nuked...

Anime Review: Ayakashi

This evening I stumbled across an Anime that suits my need for dark twisted plots, betrayal and bloodshed. It is called Ayakashi. It is a classic Japanese horror retold in anime. I have watched the first two episodes and have been really impressed with the art, and flair of the story so far. Also for your enjoyment I am going to embed the first episode. Enjoy!

So you want to play a online RPG? Well here is a free online mmorpg. It's called Maple Story. I have only been playing for a half hour and I am already addicted. What is that you say? Your computer sucks? Well it only requires a 500 megahertz processor so unless you are in the stone age of computers you can play it. It has rather dated graphics and it is a side scroller, but what do you expect it is free! Well if you want you can buy game money and customize the look of your character but it isn't required to play. Check it out... It is cheesy but fun!

I just got back from seeing "The Gudge 2" Let's see how great this movie was? I saw it on Friday the 13th. I saw it in theatre 13. Ok lame right but add that up and you get 26, and 26 is hawesome! Ok that isn't what made this movie great, it just was! Go See it! Much better than the first, although the japanese Ju-on was still better.

Labor Day and Star Wars...

On Labor day Random Sam, Joe, and I went to the Star Wars Exhibit. It was awesome. I have many pics to share so I will link that as well. Anyhow, it was awesome to see the costumes and the weapons. I can't forget the models that were actually used in the filming of the movies. I recommend spending the extra five dollars on the multimedia package, it was well worth it and enhanced the whole thing. The only part I didn't do was the Millennium Falcon Experience, I just couldn't justify waiting an hour for a four minute show. Sadly we went on the last day it was here so I hope it makes it to a town near you soon... and may the force be with you...

I just found out that my favorite Sci-Fi TV show is on it's last season . Ofcourse I am referring to Stargate SG-1. Scifi has decided to end the series after this season. I have been a loyal fan since the beginning of the series and own all the dvd box sets. I would understand canceling the show if it's ratings were failing but SG-1 is as strong as ever! I will rant more about this later and I am going to post ways to send in your letters and comments to the creators and the execs that have a hand in this decision.

Another masterpiece... I have said it all before the brilliance of the mind of Chan-Wook Park is astonishing and somewhat disturbing because of the detailed imagery he uses. I have seen five from him and he has now reached the of one of my three favorite directors of films. As I have said with the others this is a must see... Again a little slow in the beginning but well worth the wait.

This film is from the same twisted mind that gave us "Oldboy". It is another masterpiece in the revenge genre. Chan-Wook Park is a genius when it comes to films! This is the second of his films I have seen and I was again blown away... This movie was much slower paced than "Oldboy" but it pulls you into the feelings and motivations of all the characters. You feel bad for them and you cheer when the ones who have wronged them get theirs. This is another Korean masterpiece I recommend it to everyone... Well except those who have a weak stomach for violence, brutality, and gore... Tomorrow I will be watching his newest film that won at the Cannes film festival "Sympathy for lady Vengeance". I am expecting nothing less than more brilliance from this film...

Over the last few weeks I have been watching "Stan Lee's Who Wants To Be A Superhero?" I really have been enjoying this show and Stan Lee seems to be very hard on the wannabe superheroes. In case anyone missed an episode here is the synopsis. I know a few people who would love to have been on this show... Random Sam... I have two favorites right now and they are Monkey Woman and Feedback. This past episode really made me like her character. She had to go into a dog filled back yard and make it to the door. Everyone gave up or made it in under a minute and she went for over 10 minutes never giving up. That was extremely impressive to me. Well I can't wait till next week to see what happens...

I guess it is fair to say I am the eternal friend. I want to be the desired man, the one who is thought of more than just a good friend. . Every woman loves me but not in the "romantic" way. They always tell me I will find someone but It always seems to be "just friends" Please don't misunderstand me I love making friends but when you are surrounded by married
couples who are so happy and in love, and also beautiful women who are only your friends I feel alone. Maybe it is utter nonsense, maybe I am just someone who is meant to only have friends.To be blunt I am not sure. I hope not because after my best friends wedding my heart burns for a love like what they share. Someone to share my secrets (although there are not many), my dreams,,
my passion, my crazy random thoughts and most of all my soul.

I go home everynight after work and spend it my cats watching tv and surfing the web. I am not only a homebody though on the weekends I tend to be out somewhere either shopping, hanging out with friends,or maybe even a club or bar. Sadly you really can't meet someone at a bar. I have tried and it is usually a mess. Some say meet a good girl at church. I say NO they are the ones who tend to cause the most drama and heartache in my life. I may be wrong but experience tells me I am right.

I have one more little rant before I let this go. okcupid users. If I take the time to message you and we have a lthings in common, message me back... I hate taking the time to send a message trying to come up with something original to say and then not get a response. I don't use crude language
like the guys every one of you love to complain about. I want a conversation. I know this whole rant hasbeen about being the eternal friend but I do still like to make new ones...

I guess this is just a rant about nothing that no one could possibly care about... it is what it is...Take it as such and one final thought "PANTS!"

Superman Returns...

Last evening Team Random Humans went to the advance screening of "Superman Returns" I was really excited to see this film. I was a huge fan of the movies as a child and yes even into my adulthood even though I know they were rather cheesy. I won't say anything that will give away the plot but it plays homage to the original movies. Brandon ~~Rolth~~ Routh was an excellent choice to play the Man of Steel. There are moments when you swear it is Christopher Reeves playing the role again. He channeled him I guess and his looks uncanny.

There were others in the film that you may have seen killed recently in other "summer" superhero movies. James Marsden AKA "Cyclops" from the X-Men franchise played Lois Lane's love interest and all around good guy Richard White.

I think I will end this review or rant or whatever with this... Don't be an idiot go see the movie!

HA! I suck! I made it this year to only 469th place out of about 2300. I tried my best and took a bad beat against Okiemon. After losing to trip jacks ace kicker against my trip jacks with a king kicker, I couldn't rally a comeback. Then I was moved to a moster table with people with over 25,000 in chips each. At the time my bad beat knocked me down to a stack of about 1500. Well there is always next year! See ya later Space Cowboys!

As mentioned in Rambling by Sam at Random Humans.com, he and Justin picked up Settlers of Catan. I had yet to play it until last evening. This game blew me away, very simple, yet extremely fun rules! I have found a new addiction for my gaming! They even have an online version of the game. I am about to test that out now and I will update you on how it goes. I also found a freeware game I am looking into.

This evening after work Sam and I went to see "The Omen". I was so afraid it was going to suck. I mean I have been a fan of the original series, I hoped they would do it justice. They did... This movie blew me away,I knew what was going to happen but it was presented very nicely. Great soundtrack, great camera work, great acting,Damn that Damien could scare anyone. The evil little munchkin... I highly recommend this film.
